Nalej is sponsoring a fashion show on May 31, 2008 at 6 PM on the quad of Palo Alto High School (50 Embarcadero Road).

The event is to help the Model Citizen Club raise enough money to purchase a Play Pump. These play structures have numerous benefits for African villages. When used by children, the Play Pumps generate energy to transport water to locations without water access. In addition, the pumps carry anti-AIDS advertisements.

The presence of a Play Pump in the village would free the village women from their long walks to a faraway water source, to get water for their families. The Play Pumps also benefits the children, since their villages will probably not otherwise have the funds for play structures
